Default Need help asap.......

Hey guys, well after I changed out my spark plugs to do a little tune up, I was presented with a pretty shocking problem.......OIL ON SPARK PLUGS. I'm really not looking forward to buying a new engine just yet.....I was told it might just be the valve seals which is a nice solution, but the amount of oil is pretty darn scary. Oil was present on pretty much all of the plugs with these three being the worse of the bunch........

Most or all of the oil was on the threads only, no blue smoke coming from the truck at all, and I know I should first get a compression check and such..........What do you guys think???? Quick fix or new motor???? Opinion are greatly appeciated

Change your valve cover gaskets.

If it is wet like that, it is just a leak somewhere. The tip of the plugs look fine (from the pics). If it were burning oil, it would have a lot of carbon on the end of the plug.

Agreed..... Change the VC gaskets on th etruck and run ur fingers down your powersteering lines, pressure and no pressure and see if you find any oil, it looked like motor oil but it could be from a ps line blowing oil onto your vc's and wires. How many plugs were wet with the oil, and on what sides of the motor were they located on.

These three plugs were from the driver's side of the motor........passenger's side was less noticable but also visible......I'd say only one or two of the plugs were dry.....I forgot to mention that the worst one had oil leaking from the plug hole on the engine block, although I have never noticed any stains in the drive way.......

Yeah that looks like an exterior leak from VC gaskets. Insulators look good so it doesn't appear to be burning oil, just leaking it. Fix the gaskets and don't worry about it.

Haha Good to Go!! , Like I said man.... Just remember there is always a fix for everything no matter what it is- That has kept me sane for everything I have run into problems with.

After your done with the VC gaskets hit that motor with degreaser and wash it real good after the gasket sealant has had time to seat and double check your work. Make sure that you keep checking them all that same week since you will be putting your engine through heat cycles driving it and things will heat up and expand and then cool off and shrink down so keep an eye on it, you just wanna make sure you got the right leak!
