Default Need help with 5.3 in an 04 Tahoe

I have an 04 Tahoe that my wife drives. It has two lifters that I believe are collapsed. It is ticking really loud and running rough. I pulled the valve covers and one on each side is getting no oil up the push rod. I have the heads off now and was going to change the lifters.
When I got the lifters out the rollers are completely surrounded by the lifter body not held by the ears like on the others I have dealt with. did they change lifter designs some time or have these been changed some time? Can I use the other style lifter or is the geometry wrong? I have a set that is nearly new and would like to use them if I can.
Thank you for the help. I will try to get some pictures up if they will help.

Pics or part numbers will be helpful.

The fully encapsulated ones are the better ones. I would get another set my self.

The used ones don't look very good. They may be dirty but it looks like 1 or 2 rollers have some heavy wear marks on them.

Thank you for the reply. I think the other ones are just dirty in the pics. I used my phone to get a couple quick shots of each. I will probly just get some new ones just didn't know they switched styles.
What is the difference in the LS7 lifters I see a lot of people switching too? I have read they are a different height so you have to get different push rods. Is this correct?
Again thank you for the info I am still trying to learn about these engines and what parts will interchange with each other.

There is none. That is basically what you took out.

GM part number 12499225 is a pack of 16

The Individual GM part number is 17122490 for 1 lifter
