my c10 leaked fluid into the booster from the master cylinder. Not enough to smoke. Wouldn't explain your oil loss though.

since last night i pulled tb and looked in intake. An I see oil rolling around in bottom . Think once I got truck in air to change brakes and started it oil got sucked into the intake on both sides and that's where the smoke was coming from .. I'm going to change plugs AnD go from there

Does it smoke all the time, or just for a little bit at start up? In other words, if you drive down the road for two miles, is it still smoking, or does it stop until you shut it off and start it again?

If so, check out my last few posts, as I have a thread on this issue with a simple solution that has worked twice now a year apart.

I know this an old thread, and I apologize for opening it up again, but I just did a brake job on my silverado also and jacked it up by the frame rails. I have done brakes many times before but never jacked from the rail as you described also. Now my truck is blowing smoke like you described, and lots of it.

What was the resolution to this issue? Im hoping and assuming just the aggressive angle of jacking it up by the frame caused fluid to flow into the motor somewhere making it smoke? I am hesitating to start my truck again in fear of damaging something worse, but im guessing it will just burn up and go away?

Thanks

pull the throttlebody off and look in the intake to see if there is a bunch of oil pooled up in there. if thats the case, yes, the oil will burn off and you should be fine. it might foul the spark plugs and maybe the o2 sensors.

check your pcv valve on the back of the valve cover by the firewall. it is probably sucking up a bunch of oil and putting straight into your intake.
