Default Mounting Trans Coolers

I need some of those things that you poke thru the radiator and snap the end on like that come with the transmission cooler. Oxidizr didn't you make some custom brackets for your Hayden and did you throw these away or do you still have them? If anyone has some of these and wants to sell them just post how much you want for them. Thanks for your help.

EDIT 8-24-02 - POST PICS OF YOUR TRANS COOLERS (if you have any pics.) Thanks.

You can pick these up at an autoparts store. I got some at Checker out here. (it might be a Kragen or Shucks out there) or try an AutoZone.

They were in stock at Oreilly's $4.50. I used 1 to fix my transmission cooler, and since I had everything apart, I used the other 3 to hold my LS1 fans to the radiator, and tossed the ghetto bed brackets I had on there.

you dont even need those things. i just used the factory brackets for the tranny cooler and used self-tapping screws to hold it in place.

Are you saying you have only one of the plastic ties holding your tranny cooler in place? At that price, you may just want to buy another set of them and make sure your fans and coolers are secured really well. The plastic ties are sometimes known to break.

HAHA Ryan sorry I forgot to mention I already had 3 on there when I bought the new set of 4. The reason why is I had mounted it thru the AC condenser and the radiator, and I decided I didn't want to put so much stress on the ties, so I cut them and put them just thru the AC condenser. Well they aren't made to be reused but I got 3 of them to work, on the 4th one, the ring that snaps on broke. Graygmc, I don't know what you mean, mine didn't come with any brackets, it didn't even come with an aux transmission cooler, just a line going thru the side of the radiator. What did you screw the brackets to and where did you mount the cooler? How big is your cooler? Do you have any pics? Thanks dudes. <img src="http://images.prosperpoint.com/images/2205/111281-19.jpg" alt=" - " />

I hate those things (zip retainers.) They are probably not too bad for supporting a cooler but I would caution you on mounting the fan with them. The fan has harmonics and vibrations which will be directly tranmistted to the radiatior core. Too much and you can damage the core tubes. Check with any reputable radiator rebuild shop and they will concur that these things are not good for aux or primary Fan mounting.
