She's gotten MUCH better about not going in the house. THe last time she peed in the house, we were over at my in-laws. I caught her as soon as she got up, grabbed a paper and chased her outside. For whatever reason, my hand doesn't bother her, but if I have SOMETHING, like a paper or magazine, she freaks smooth out and knows I'm pissed. I think that time hurt her feelings cause she was there playing with other dogs and other people. Other than that one time, it's prolly been a month since the last time she peed in the house. We don't leave her out yet though, she still kennel's every night and if we leave and its to nasty outside to leave her out.
Lab pups are smart too. It takes patience and lots of spending time with them. Often times, they are left in the yard and not payed attention to, which is when they become very hyper and uncontrollable. If you spend the time with the lab, it will make an excellent dog. I had a lab a while back that I still miss. The pound took her and gave her to a doctor in town cause she kept getting out of my fence. She would get mad for me leaving and find a way out to greet me at the front door. Anyways .. get the dog out somewhere and let her run and socialize. They LOVE water, so a lake park would be great! Get an empty soda bottle to take with you too. Fill it up with enough water to throw it. It builds their jaw muscles too since it was weight to it.
Sport, thanks for the Boxer info.
Mine's not a champion though, just a boxer pup.

Flyer, I didn't explain that fully. The whole boxer population has been affected by the championship line. If your pup has a pedigree, which the majority of boxer do, then there's a high probability that somewhere back in it's lineage is some championship stock. If you have papers on it, just look for (ch) by any of the names on the chart. In any case, just be aware of the health issues I noted and look it over frequently. If you find any lumps, don't panic, if removed early, there is usually no problem.
Boxers need lots of exercise and if they don't get it, they will get fat in few years, which is also bad for them. Choose a good brand of food and don't let it eat all that it wants. I had good luck with Science Diet for the past 20 years with my boxers and when any started getting to heavy, I switched to the light version. Good luck with yours. They have a very unique personality which you will soon note. BTW, they love to ride in the back of trucks.
