Default manual to e fan swap?

Will e fans out of a 05 silverado work in my 02? Will they mount up like they should ? And does somebody make a kit to convert it to where it wires up right?

the 05 fans are from the 34" radiator your 02 probly has the smaller one...and i think nelson and blackbear both offer a harness that goes to your pcm but you have to be tuned for the fans to come on

Search the GM Performance and General sections for "05 Efans" and you'll find a wealth of information

A few guys have run them with success, but the word is that the probe that sticks into the radiator has a tendency to fail rendering your efans inoperative. I like the 05 fans for the OEM look myself, but that's just my personal preference.

I've installed the Flex-a-lite kit on several Silverados. It's works GREAT. It has a solid state controller that ramps up the fan speed as the engine warms up. The others are just multiple speed ON/OFF(no ramp up controller). As far as the temp probe you can put a small amount of JB Weld on it to hold it in place. When you insert it you push the tip through so it protrudes about 1/4". Put a little dab of JB Weld on the tip(where it protrudes) and on the back side of the radiator(where it was inserted). It doesn't take much and this will keep the probe from moving. The Flex-a-lite fan kits I installed have been working for years with NO probems.

If you have a CAI it may require modification to work with the larger radiator...my Volant clears fine but my old K&N FIPK needed modification to clear...
