Unless you have a pretty wild all out setup it won't help that much.

well every so often the maf code will come out as i'm driving. If i get on it and let off it clears it up for about 10 minutes. then comes back on. I currently have headers, Ud pulley, Fast intake, 90 mm tb, tune, msd wires, CAI, and a cam thats waiting to be installed. 224/224 if that helps. Also on the way is a performabuilt level 2 transmission. but without the cam and tranny installed i wont see any gains?

With that being said, I had a problem with mine after the 6.0 swap. Mine would check just idling. All I did to fix mine is clean the MAF & TB and the code went away!

your CAI, is it k&n? sometimes if you over oil it, that can cause maf problems. but i wouldnt waste my money on a descreened maf, just my .02

no, it's a spectre cai. but i still oil the filter and stuff as if its a K&N. Also i tried some cleaning stuff on the MAF and still nothing. Went to price the piece at Autozone and holy $hit. Thats why i was asking if a aftermarket one would be good since i'm gonna pay a good amount already.

Grab one off a friends and try it first to see if that's even the problem. They are expensive and also often blamed for undiagnosed problems.
