Default Made In Mexico

Replaced my rear leaf springs. Turned over the OEM's, and there it was in big yellow lettering. "MADE IN MEXICO".

WTF?

Don't knock it. Some of the best Mustang 302 blocks were Mexican blocks due to the higher nickle content I believe.

Alot of stuff has been made in Mexico for years now. My springs say it plain as day...can see it when I crawl under. I worked at a Pontiac dealership about 14 years ago and replaced a short block on a Grand Prix, or Grand Am...can't remember...think it was a 3.8 "W" motor. Anyway, when the crate with the shortblock arrived it was stamped "Hecho en Mexico". Yea, I felt real confident dropping that block in.
I've heard stories of guys removing the oil pans on GM small block Target motors and finding extra parts...rod bearings, bolts, etc. Gotta love quality control.

They are actually only a stones throw from the border. They are made in Mexico, trucked over the border to a facility in Eagle Pass, TX and distributed from there. They are a pretty good company and have pretty tight quality standards.

BTW, they make the torsion bars on these trucks and many others too. They also make lots of different leaf springs. They aren't based in Mexico, that;s just where those parts are pressed.

Hell, I might have a few kids that are made in Mexico.

If it makes it chaper to forge the parts in Mexico then by all means. I know my truck was put together in the US and that good enoughf for me.

I feel the same way. As long as my truck was put together here, Im fine with parts forged in Mexico.
