Default M/T street radial on chevy 17's?

Would a 295/45/17 fit on the stock chevy 17" rims?

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/s...StreetRadialII

Im going to need some new tires soon and i want to upgrade to something with a little more "grip" on the street

Why wouldn't they? I know the nitto 555r's 275/40/17 does because i run a 275 tire right now.

Don't you run the 305 nittos on your 18's? Those are recommended for a 9.5" wide wheel and i thought your wheels were 8.5" wide.

I could of sworn i read that the stock 17's were a 8.5" wide wheel... someone clarify me if i am wrong plz

If these dont work ill just be buying the nittos.

im pretty sure stock 17's are 7.5" wide and the specs on that tire say that they are 11.5" wide.

hell it may work. notice that the 295/45 17 and the 305/45-18 are the same width. and my wheels are 8" wide.

Just used the good old search button and found out they 7.5" wide.

I think ill just get the nitto 275/40/17... they recommend a 9.0" wide wheel but i have seen some dudes down in south Houston run them no problems.

Looks like this dude has them on his... i don't think they look bad with a drop. They would look like if it was stock height

The tires i have now have a approved rim width of 7.5-9.5... i think the 295 M/T might be pushing it. Guess ill have to go with the nittos.
