Default LT headers with stock cats?

Has anyone got LT headers and had the stock cats fabbed into a Y pipe? If so, where did you mount the cats and does it matter how close the cats are to the collectors? Looking under my truck, it looks easier to mount the cats up right past the trans crossmember.

Got Thorley tri-y's one mine and they're made to stop right in front of the cats to facilitate keeping them in the stock location. Just thinking about how the cats need a certain degree of temperature to light off, I'd think you'd wanna keep them as close to the collectors as possible. Not sure on what the maximum distance would be though for optimal operational temperature.

^^^^ Thanks for the pics. It looks like it's pretty tight before the crossmember and my stock cats look different then yours for some reason.

The further back you place them, the less they actually work... I don't think your worried about emmisions but i think they might clog easily if you put them that far back due to the exhaust being cooler. I may be wrong thou...

Hmm, I'm going to the muffler shop tomorrow to get it fabbed up. I'll see what they recommend. I'd like to keep them as close to the collectors as possible.
