Default LQ4 won't stay running, no codes

Hello all, I have an '01 Denali with 240k that was used as a daily driver/commuter. It recently took a dive and is hard to start, when it does it will not stay running without holding the gas. I have no codes when scanned, just the "service engine" light that has been on a while. I'm wondering if it could be the coil packs, since they are the originals. I'm purchasing a new Denali, but would like to get this running to use as a car to make my JY runs in. Also can I use the round coils as a replacement if I change the bracket? Any direction offered would be appreciated.

I'm not sure. I think they are 2 different styles.

Does anyone know of the round heat sink coils will fit in place of the square flat ones as long as I have the correct brackets and coils pack harness?

I would check fuel pressure first, or with that kinda miles, plugs? dirty throttle body? dirty MAF?. all easy checks that I would do first .

Fuel pressure is good, new pump and checked at fuel rail. The plugs have less than 200 miles on them. I'll start with cleaning the MAF and throttle body.

you would have to change the brackets and wires, the wires are longer for the round coils over the square coils

Take an old toothbrush or something and clean/scrub the throttle body with carb cleaner or brake clean. It sounds like you have carbon build up around the body just behind the throttle plate and this is stopping air from getting into the engine at idle.

If the check engine light is on, check the codes. As stated above I would check the basics, fuel pressure, carbon buildup on the T body, dirty air filter, clean the MAF sensor, and check for air leaks anywhere.
