Default Lowest et on 5.3?

Just wondering what your guys think would be the lowest et on the 5.3 motor. My 220 tr cam. and stock botton end. I dont know what my chances are but I'm shooting for a 7.5 in the 1/8th. I do still have a few mods to go before I stop modding the truck. I'm going to up the spray to a 100 then a 125 when I get my tunning, Maby even a 150? If I can get mid to low 7's out of the truck I"m going to leave it be. Just thought this might get every ones .02 on this. Thanx.

It's totally doable in a lighter truck.

I went 12.3@110mph with a 5250lb raceweight and a 5.3L.

Flyer was on his 5.3L when he went high 11s@111mph and a 4550lb raceweight.

Wow that is awsome. What are you doing about traction? I get with a little gas you could bring those numbers down a bit. Thanx man.

Hey I heard the pistons in the 5.3's can only take about 425 h.p. is this true. I know I have burnt two pistons up in the past and know I'm on my second motor. I'm kind of scared to push the stock internal 5.3 anymore what are yall doing.

I was well into the 500+RWHP range and I never hurt the stock pistons on my last motor. I had a great tune though.

The biggest thing is to keep things cool and tune the snot out of it on a good dyno.

Well I dont think I will be much over 425 hp. That wil be great if I do though, Or even if I get to 425. Fine with me. As long as I can run with the camaros and t/as around here that think they are bad *** for a while. If I can get a 7.5 out of the truck I think I will leave it alone and start on another project. Thanx guys.

I wonder about that all the time. My best 1/8th mile so far is 7.48 @ 92.6. There's a guy on here that went 11.63 in the 1/4 and I'm trying to go a little quicker.
