Default loosing power

03 Silverado with 5.3.... First off NO check engine at all. I used the scan tool at Advanced auto and nothing came up. Truck is falling over on itself. Starts drives but is totally sluggish. Getting her to move is another issue. It's like someone attached an anchor to it and I'm trying to get free. Sucked down a quarter tank of gas in 50 miles.

Been told it could be injectors, clogged fuel line/filter, cats, Tps sensor.

Suggestions thanks

might wanna get a scanner hooked up to it to watch real time Data..
My first thought was fuel filter, but cant rem if 03 had it on the frame or in the tank.

It really just depends on a lot of variables such as your driving habits. If you frequently drop the hammer the cats actually last longer than if you rarely give it TPS over half. Also depends on gasoline in your area and the grade used. and of course if you have any mods, especially a tune or headers.

Fuel supply issues and or clogged cats could make what you are describing happen.

Thanks to you all. I knew the fuel filter was on the frame drivers side near the back tire. I did take it down to the mechanic after I borrowed a fuel guage and hooked it up finding that I'm getting 48-50lbs at the fuel rail. If my memory serves me right its supposed to be near or at 60? Noticed that the guage is slowly loosing pressure as I watch it. I tried to get the fuel filter off even with my flare set of wrenches and had litterally no luck in breaking it free.

Mechanic is telling me what I already saw on the fuel guage, that its not getting enough fuel pressure and its dropping albiet slowly. He got the filter off and suggests getting rebuilt injectors for the leaking issues.

Right now I'm low on cash (aint everyone) and just getting the fuel filter on is improved on what it was.

Will look into replacement injectors and whether to change all of them out or just the few that are leaking???

The cats were a thought as well but I tend to use the go pedal getting onto the highways here as the ramps are about 40 ft long and if you dont hammer it your gonna get rear ended!!

Get your fuel issues straightened out then see how it runs.
