Hello everyone i thought i would ask on this forum considering everyone on here knows about trucks. I am looking for a DD/Tow vehicle. The towing will be for my Camaro every now and then to the track and the rest will be just highway and city driving. I was thinking about a Silverado 1500. I was wondering if you guys can give me some information about model years to stay away from, things to look out for with used Silverado's, Max milage not to go over when purchasing, Parts that start to wear first on different years. Just some info would be greatly appreciated. Or maybe tell me about other brands of trucks that would be a better buy? Ford? Dodge?
Any info would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks Much

stick with chevy
silverado ss, denali, vortec max, vho all have 6.0s in them
i would stay away from buying just a regular 1/2 ton for towing for example a 5.3 and DEF not a 4.8. of course if you plan to mod that could play a factor.
another thing you could do is get an HD with a 6.0, 2001+ cause i think the older ones have cast iron blocks not that thats a huge factor anyways.
these are just a few things ive heard on this site but im sure someone woh knows there sheot will chime in
