A friend of mine I work with just bought one last week.

Here's some pics of it: Gibbs Truck

He paid $45k out the door for it. That is a lot of money, but I guess if you're someone like him (liked his truck, but wanted Vette-like performance) then I bet this works for you.

All standard cabs come with 4.8's, extended cabs are 5.3's.

At least it comes with a good warranty.

damn, that's a lot of money for something that ain't that great. I'd rather get a basic rcsb with a 5.3 and put 10k into it. you'd be even with the JG and still have money left to spend. And besides it's not cool to buy a truck that's fast off the lot, that's being a little too lazy for me.

I dunno about you, but I don't have $10k sitting around the house. Buying something fast and making it faster isn't lazy at all...it's smart if you ask me.

I'm not saying that $40k+ isn't outrageous for a RCSB truck...it is. Some people have the money to buy a truck but not the knowhow to build one, and they should be able to enjoy them just as much as we do.

nice truck, and I guess if you can justify spending that much on it, then more power to you

not sure what to think of that carbon-fiber-ish engine cover

Yeah, I don't really care for the engine cover either. I think companies get too wrapped up in covering all the engine parts! Everything's gotta have a plastic cover on it....

The only difference between the Gibbs truck and say, one that "I could just buy this and sink $10k into it", is that you get a 5 year 75,000 mile factory warranty with the Gibbs truck.

As long as you're talking this way, don't forget Chapman Super Trucks. They warranty any and all work/mods they perform on your vehicle. For much less than a Gibbs....

I can't STAND the rat's nest of cables/wires/hoses that clutter up the top of our truck manifolds. The LS1/6 setup is soooo much cleaner.

I really wouldn't mind going w/o a cover if the truck motors looked a little nicer...

You're right though, engines aren't as clean as they used to be. You're doing good to see more than 2 square inches of engine block anymore.
