Default Undercoating. Please read!

I just bought my 03 SS two weeks ago and I was under it changing my oil yesterday when I realized that the undercoating is EXTREMELY soft. I noticed this black mark on my arm, and I touched the undercoating and it came off with just a little push from the edge of my finger. It doesn't come off extremely easy, but if I rub it with my finger(not even my fingernail) it will come off. I HOPE that this isn't normal, but I don't know what to do. I am taking it to the dealership today, but I don't know what they are going to say. Any ideas or suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Aaron

Yea ... it's the coating on them. It;s like a rubbery coating. I hate the stuff ... it will grab some arm hairs when you brush against it and take them all off, or so it feels like.

yes very normal. My old truck you could just get under it and see where it had come off becasue it was rusted on top. get under their to clean a few things and I came out like a racoon.

OK, well I guess that it is just something that I have to get used to. Sure does bother me though knowing the protective coating will just rub off.
