Just an example...shorter the sidewall the better and I was lookin at Nitto's and that was one they had...R/

I am running 275/40/22 Nitto's and tow a 6500# trailer and don't even think twice about it.

2100 lbs x 4 = 8400 lbs. do you know the GVRW for your truck? can't be much more than that. what tires were they?

edit: looked up the GVWR and it said 7000 lbs. I would ask what specs they go by, because it seems like they should work.
I agree nighthawk08 on this. You should find out from your installer exactly what they are not liking, because the load rating seems fine.

Dirt Track Racer runs 295/40/20 on his ECSB and Tows his race car 40 miles 1-way to the track. Has done that for over 3 years now that I'm aware.

But as they said, tow rating x4 minus your GVW = acceptable. so maybe they expect a certain amount of Extra weight to be factored in for towing?

Thnx Guys...seems their system just prohibits changing overall diaameter by more than a certain % for liability reasons...they call it weight restrictions, but I get what they mean. I've elected to just go 305/50/20 as I wont have time to get an updated tune for a while, and I cant take it on the hiway as is (tires are 6yrs old and pretty bare!) - just wanna drive!

Personally I'da went with the 45's over the 40's. but a 305/50 is great. more contact
