MIne broke on my truck like 2 months ago. Snapped right in half. I load my dirtbike all the time in it and I had them replace the cables under warranty. And then I got the letter like a month later. I dont know if I got the good cables or just another set of crappy ones.
The reason mine broke was I had a 12 bolt rearend sittin on it and it just snapped and I had to catch the rearend and the tail gate. The good news was it didnt scratch my tailgate. If it would have they would have been painting it under warranty to.

 

I have a 2000 and got it last August, in September I was at a party and had three people and a keg on my tailgate when one broke, anyways I just got the letter about a week ago! I mean come on, my truck is 4 years old and took them that long to figure out the straps were ****!

 

I got that letter a long time ago but never did anything about it.

You think if I went to the dealer they would take care of that ? (HA YEA RIGHT!)
