no warranty, 2006 still had the 36k warranty only..... so my friend is out of luck. he has bout 40,xxx miles on it......... mines a 2006 also, but mine has 24,xxx miles on it, but i dont drive as much as he does.

been reading and researching........... and found other people whos #8 piston cracked the same way, and the spark plug bent. Some people even put another brand new piston, with bearings and seals, and a week or 2 later, the same thing happens........ the cause ??? detonation...... engine running too lean/and or too much timin from a bad tune.

that aint good! tell him to look at the bright side, time for an upgrade (more cubes) and a good tune, did he have a mail order tune? still surprised for that to happen on a mostly stock truck?

The infamous #7?...funny, it sounded like it got louder when you had the camera near the right head.

yeah, i think he is goin to look for an lq9 now...... and no, it was not mail order, it was a street tune (local)....... and it was #7...... the drivers side piston all the way in the back. and yeah, it did get louder on the passenger side for some reason, weird. even in person it was like that.
