knocking noise

Exactly the same sound mine made when it spun a bearing.

some say its a bearing, some say lifter.... who is correct ??? time will tell, lol

well, we are not goin to plug in the new spark plugs, we are goin to take the heads off instead, cuz the knockin noise could not have been cuz of the spark plug, that was just making it misfire. so heads come off on sunday, i will take pics and video of it and post up.

Yes, either or will break down whatever piece of **** is in the lifter not allowing the check ball to seat. Also if you can isolote the soung to a cylinder (use a wooden broom handle to your ear) yank that plug wire off, start the truck and see if the noise goes away. If it does you have a bad rod bearing on that cylinder

took off the passenger side head off and everything looks good.... we will be taking the other head during the weekend probably and removing the oil pan.

finally took off the other head.......... and what did we find ?????????





it was not the piston with the bent spark plug (#5) or maybe it was and we got the spark plugs mixed up,........ anyways, thats the knockin noise. everything else looks fine.
