Default Killed by an '85 Dodge Omni

Dunno if any of you guys here are into Turbo Dodge's (TD's) but thought I'd post this anyway...

I went to our local hangout last night and ran my buddy's 85 Omni TII car (2.2 intercooled turbo motor) which is runnin' just a little more boost than stock. He took me for a ride in it before we raced, and it would spin the tires HARD up through the top of 3rd gear.

Went from about 45 or so til about 80--I let out when he got 2-3 cars air on me. Of course, this was with the 60E slipping, but I don't really think that would have mattered much. [/ricer excueses]

This same basic setup in his old car trapped 105mph on 3 cylinders (one cylinder had a cracked piston we later found out.)

Anyway, I'm looking for a new daily driver! Maybe dump the Saturn for a TII LeBaron or Daytona. Hmmmm.......

brings back memories when I was 16 and was stuck driving an '87 Omni. Those weren't the days.

Those turbo late 80's early 90's dodges make great sleepers.

I used to drive an 86 GLH Omni TII conversion that was worked over more than a little.....runnin' 15psi it would scare the **** out of you, I never ran it at the track but it would comfortably keep up with my '69 Nova to about 100mph....and my Nova ran 11.80's

In stock form they aren't that impressive though.....somewhere around 15 sec 1/4 times and 0-60 in 7.5 or so
