Default Keepin up with the Jonesin

I need some tips and direction fellas.
I am building an 06 Sierra Denali
lq9 freshened up, all new bearings
220/224 cam
PAC springs
ls7 lifters
stock 317 heads
stock truck intake w/ 8.1 42lb/hr marine injectors
Tsp 1 7/8” LT
circle d 3200 stall
stock 4l65e w/ Vette servo and bigger tranny cooler.
4:10 rear end
around 5700 lbs with me in it.

In process of finishing build right now. Can’t wait to see what kind of numbers it puts out, but it won’t be enough I know. I want to have a truck fast enough to run with these straight pipe, EFI Live tuned diesels that fly by the house everyday.

IMHO all I would worry about is the 4l60 not blowing up, everything else seems good.

Yeah, the mods sound good. Should make some real good power with a decent tune.

The only worries should be the stock drive shaft and the 4L60/65e transmission. Stock drive shafts are speed limited to 100mph, going over is just asking for it to explode at some point.

If trans goes I’ve been contemplating gettin a 2wd 80e and doin the conversion. Seems like a lot of work to swap an 80e in and still be Awd.

She’s alive!

Fired it up and took a good look at everything, fixed a leaking lower radiator hose and took it for a spin. Got a tune in it for break in and gettin the exhaust finished up tommorow.

I’m using straight 30 non detergent oil for break in and Had my eyes glued to the oil pressure gauge. Went straight to 20 lbs @ idle, then after going through a full heat cycle, was at 52-55 lbs. still strange it was only around 20 at idle. It still does it. Anybody have a clue? Maybe the assembly lube causing it?

And maybe this will help somebody in The future.
When filling up the cooling system after it’s been empty, fill it thru the top port of water pump until reservoir is full and water starts drizzling out of the top radiator nipple. I’ve been through 5-6 heat cycles now and hasn’t ran hot or had to burp the system fingers crossed. It bubbled once or twice that I noticed and seems ok.

Been a long few months getting it together and feels pretty good. Can’t wait to lean on it and see what she does. Now it’s on to a bigger trans cooler, bigger injectors, maybe a tbss intake swap and some form of forced induction.

Tips for gettin an idle video up? Can’t figure the video upload out
