Default Just aquired slowprocess's silverado. New ideas...

I have watched this truck go from stock to badass over the years and just bought it to make into a daily street runner. I believe it was one of the first 6.0 swaps (2004). Im thinking about doing a t56 swap (originally a 4l60e) and am aware of the basics. Clutch pedal, clutch and all necessary equipment, trans and crossmember. What im unsure about is whether to do a mechanical or hydraulic clutch, what kind of driveshaft mods are needed and any computer changes to be made if any? If anyone has any suggestions feel free to offer them up.

Look at vanillagorilla's T56 thread, it's got a lot of good info. I would go with a factory style hydraulic clutch. All of the PCM, driveshaft, and crossmember modifications are in that thread as well.

Congrats on picking up that truck, it looks like a great starting point!!

Your a very lucky man cuz i had cash in hand but was offshore... But Ill tell you the ideas i had for it.. I was going to upgrade the front end to a 05-06 model, all new paint, cowl hood, bed cover, new built trans, new suspension, 4:10 gears, new 20"s, And a big shot of nitrous till the motor gave up then build a monster... Just a few ideas....

Sounds like yall have the money for a vette or maybe something nicer. Its going to be my DD so something to row or maybe an a4 and some different wheels and tires are first off im sure. Then maybe one day ill put my 9inch in it with a four link and possibly a better intake and pulley set up. I want to keep the truck near to its current form since it is already so nice and he dumped a ton of money into this truck over the years. As far as luck goes it was more like he was hoping it would go to someone who would take care of it not chop it up and rag it out.

Some of those above ideas are nice sounding. either bogarts or 20's. The newer chevy frontends are too square and ugly. bedcover and carpeted bed is possible if i think it wont look trashy.
