I ran into a little extra $$$ and am wondering which i would benefit more from...putting on a Volant Intake or doing the electric fans? They both will cost roughly the same but trying to figure out which one to do first...any thoughts? (2004 4.8L Tahoe)

 

You will get more from the efans even though i like the Volant too.

 

If i can find the fans for less than $100, get the harness for $80, and flash the PCM for $25 it should be a nice little bump in HP i'm assuming...

 

You would get more out of the e-fans right now but in the end I'm assuming you will end up with both so get whichever you want right now...

 

get the efans and build your own intake, get best of both worlds and it's pretty easy to do.

 

punch a hole in the front or the back of your stock box, at least a 3"-4"

 

I have one of those drop in K&N filters right now...any benefit of those if i were to punch some holes in the box too?

 

yes, but little, open the box, and you'll see the small intake ports in the inside. Make those bigger or make a nice 4" round/square hole in the front, or if you're scared about getting water in when it rains, make it on the bottom, or on the back side.

 

Anybody got any pics of their airbox with the holes in them?

 

I would go ahead and do the efans first. After you install the efans, you can build your own cai for around $100 that will be just as benefitial as any intake you can buy.
