Default Instrument cluster swap ? into 99 Sierra

Ok, been searching for the last hour and keep finding conflicting answers so figured I'd come ask the experts lol.
Got a 99 Sierra. Cluster started acting up so out it comes. Love the look of the 03 silvy ss cluster. Seen some say it will work and others say no.
So, 03 ss cluster into 99 yay or nay? Or am I stuck with denali or escalade cluster? Got twin 70's going on my 6.0 in the spring so trans temp and a 120mph speedo will be a plus

Nay. although an SS cluster would be nice.

If you want trans temp and 120 speedo you can get a Denali or Escalade 00-02 cluster.

You're strictly limited to 99-02 clusters. No programming required.

You can get custom clusters with nice designs that have the 120mph speedo and trans gauge.

These guys are right, the electronics are completely different in an 03 up. mine is a 00 Silverado and I used the escalade cluster. I love it but it doesn't quite match, the truck is red the interior is tan and the overlay is blue... but at least the temp gauge is all plug and play

Yes, just swap it in and go. I put a 02 Denali cluster in mine, no problems, just plugged it in. Even found it on Ebay with only 3k more miles on it then my truck had so pretty close match. Nice having the trans temp and 120 speedo!

If you can find a Tahoe 00-02 with the police package (retired Trooper or Police Dept) it will have a 120 speedo. I heard there were some 140 speedo's out there but haven't tried searching, and it could have been on newer models. EBAY is probably best bet.

140 was on the Tahoe with police package in 05-06. It will only fit the 03-07 classic trucks.

The 120 clusters in 01-02 were in Sierra Denali, Yukon, Yukon XL

Another food for thought is if you go to a 2000-2002 your airbag light will be on- I did a 02 Denali in my 99
