wow im missing out on some fun in here!! Anyway, sorry it took me so long to post Randy. Look all the non believers can just sit back and accept it. The truck os for real, 12.59 at 104. I saw the run, the time slip and know for a fact that what he says he has, he does. I suppose it would be just asking for people to Throw the BS flag at me if i were to say that my best is 12.69@ 106.69. Im sorry that some people just throw parts at a truck and expect it to run fast. Its all about the setup and combination of parts. My truck is a cam only 5.3 that makes 340 hp. I bet some folks dont beleive that either. Look on the thunder racing website at the Dyno graph of the 220/220 on 112 camshaft. I own that truck guys. The bottom line is I would be skeptical if i didnt see it, but i did. For all who dont beleive just come on down to No Problem in January and see us run.

If my '02 Yukon (stock 5.3/4L60E) can drag 5900lbs down the 1/4 in 15.94, then I believe an 4600lb (guessing) N/A 5.3 (with Randy's bolt-ons) will do mid 12s. Lets just say there's a nice 3800lb RCSB with a similar powertrain that's gonna run mid to low 12s. Hopefully, it'll be runnin' by late February.

NPR will be the first track it sees! Any non-believers can show up at da track. Proof is in the pudding!

Please ask Tiburon, Quickenuf, 02Reaper, RGVSierra, BlueCajun5.3, V8, and 12sec5.3 if they are using stock injectors.
All of the above are in the high 12s, low 13s, w/ cam only 5.3Ls.
With that said, I don't understand how you can single out Randy.

Are you claiming his times do not match his mods?
Or, you can not run on the stock injectors with a cammed 5.3L?

Thanks.

Im still on stock injectors, stock fuel pump and have only tweaked the regulator a small amount. I think these injectors are plenty good for 400 hp. Alot of randys great ET is the driveline setup he has. 4.56 gears, big verter and some suspesion work all adds up. In a race car, its possible to tune around 1 second out of the chassis. It works the same way in our rides, just on a slightly smaller scale. How many of you guys would sacrifice the gas milage of 4.56s just to run some better numbers at the track. I wasnt willing to do that so i went with a street setup of 3k yank and 3.73s. Its not bad on gas but everyone around me will beat me in the short times. Randy just goes all out and trys things that not many people would. Thats how hes come up with his setup. Good job Randy. number 1 N/A 5.3 in the country. Im right behind you, but 2nd place is the first loser!

The 1996-99 Vortec 350's have 19 lb/hr injectors, there is a guy dynoing 330 rwhp with a 383, ported Vortec heads and LT4 hotcam. 330 rwhp is 396 at the crank using 20% correction.
Are you guys running adjustable fuel pressure regulators??

A lot more fuel is injected if you crank teh pressure. The 19 lb/hr injectors at 43.5 psi, flow 22.3 psi at 60 psi, 25.7 lb/hr at 80psi.

You should be able to get a bunch more hp than 400 at the crank with 24 lb/hr injectors at 60 psi as they flow 28.2 lb/hr at that 60 psi.
