Default Injectors ??????????

Ok talking to a friend of mine about the injectors on the truck.
How many people change their injectors and witch one did u go with when u change and why.
I was told that stock 5.3 injectors r 24.4 lbs. they r only good for about 350 to 375hp,but then i am thinking i made 338 at the wheeles that is over 400 @ the motor. so then that mean my injectors r staic right.i don't have anylap top yet hook up so i don't know when they start to go staic.

Mine where maxxed out after I added my heads, It would go lean at about 5200. I added 42lbers, alittle overkill, but the price was rite.

Yes, they are the same. You could also go with the 31lb ones from the 8.1 truck motor. The price was rite for me and if I build a 408 I already have them.

mattren u say they r the same but i have a set off of a 03 ss 6.0 it has 4 holes on the end of the injector and my 01 only has 2 holes sooooo what is the difference.

the reason i am asking this ? is i don't know if i want to change all my connectors to run the car type injectors their r more to chose from. i was told i need around a 37 lbs injector.

I was told that they are the same, 24.5 lbs I think, If you need a 37 lb injector, just go with the 42lb injector, they are plug and play. Multec II is the 42lb marine injector.

I don't have mine rite here, but I think my stock ones had 2 holes also.

I'm just now getting into late model truck performance and really don't plan on changing injectors any time soon but you guy's brought a question to mind.

I've had a couple of street/strip 5.0 Mustangs and on those cars once you get to the point of needing to change injectors you have to change either the computer programming of the MAF to match the injector flow rate.

Is that not the case with the late model GM trucks? Is it truely plug and play to change injectors on these things?

I'm just courious.

Thanks, Bob

Plug and play ,I am talking about not changing the plug itself. The truck use a shorty injector where the cars, LS1 use a different injector and plug.
Yes you need to tune for the injector or you will have way too much fuel, If you swapping injectors you need to tune anyway. Yes it will change the flow rate.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. That's what I would have thought. I didn't think the computer would shorten the pulse width that much based only on a rich reading from the O2 sensors but like I said I was curious.

Thanks for not flaming me on a stupid question.
