of course, I agree with him, just funny you brought that up.

Sweet. I've been trying for two night-class-semesters to get into a welding class. Last spring, and this fall. I missed both.

Yeah, I'm so jealous. It took 2 years to get parts/fix out plasma cutter and finally be able to use it! I didn't TIG weld until around 3 years into the class. The only chance when I flux core welded was with a piece of trash 12 year old Chicago Electric welder that took me 12 hours in the garage to rig to work (blocks of wood, tape, and some clamps! ).
Yeah, with all this instruction you better have some awesome welds son!

This was only my third night, sheesh
I did bring my work home so I could snap a few picks

Tonight we did use the 7018 sticks, overlapping beads.
Compared to the 6013, the 7018 don't seem to burn off as fast, they definitely leave less slag(that was cool). They seemed a little easier to control once going, HOWEVER, Once them Sum Bitches stick! Holy ****! you've got to be fast, or you'll burn a whole electrode like I did

Between the 6013 and 7018 I'd say I like them evenly for different reasons.

Make sure you're dragging the 7018 rod, it's a drag rod, not a circle or zig-zag rod such as 6013. Yeah, when they stick, well they stick!
Welcome to the bubble gum rod!

Thanks a million, believe it or not, telling me the 7018 is a drag rod makes all the difference in the world now. I was treating like a 6013, now it makes sense
