Default I'm So Confused!!!!

Well here's my dilema, I have a 01 silverado ext cab 5.3, should I.......1. keep it and keep building on it, headers, cam, intake, etc., 2. Do a ls1 swap on the engine and build on that, or 3. Keep it as is and buy a 87 chevy short bed and build that one up? I want to do all 3 really badly but I can only afford one, gimme sum opinions fellas, what would ya'll do?

put the ls1 in it and sale the 5.3 to try to recover some of the money. then buy the older truck.

5.3 isn't worth much, but an LS1 ECSB would be awesome if you can afford it.

...im down with the big cubes, but those blocks are a little weaker than my standard, big bore weaker metal, 408+ cast iron, aluminum heads, with a touch of boost.
