Default I made a purchase and have a couple of questions

I bought the wife a 2010 Tahoe last night.

Got a chance to drive it around a bit and I'm pretty impressed. Drives real nice. It's an LT Texas Edition with a 5.3.

My questions are:
1. What tranny does this thing have? Pretty sure its a 6 speed, but I don't know crap about those.

2. Does it have all that VVT and DOD **** on it? How would I know? It is a flex fuel.

Don't hammer me too bad guy's, I don't know squat about the new stuff.

O'yea............her 08 Jetta is for sale if anyone is interested.

If its a 6 speed, its a 6L80E or a 6L90E. Im not sure about how to find out if it has DOD.

A Low Dime said it on the trans, as for the DOD ****. Look at the sticker and it should state something like "Vortec 5.3l SFI engine w/Active Fuel Management & Flex Fuel Capability" if it has the AFM/DOD or whatever you want to call it.

Congrats on your new purchase.

Look under the intake manifold, if the valley cover looks like a tetris game, then it's AFM, if the timing cover has a bell looking cover over the cam gear then it's a VVT motor as well.

Congrats on the purchase. I have a 2007 tahoe that I bought new and its about to roll over 100,000 miles. It's been very reliable, with only a couple minor problems that I'm sure have been fixed with the new ones. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.
