Default I installed Factory Foglights

Alright i installed the factory foglights that i got off ebay for a gm dealer in chicago. It came with the fuse, lights, interior switch with cargo light button and the wiring harness. I have everything plugged in and everything. I get the lights grounded. I plug the harness into where it says in the fuse box and the lights come on without the car on and i go to push the button to turn them off and they dont turn off. Everything seems to work because the wiring is the same wiring for the cargo light because i push that and the cargo light lights up. So is this where it says i need to go to a gm dealer to have the bcm or pcm whatever the guy said to have it reflashed to let it realize there's foglights now and then the button will work?

Yep, the older trucks (99-02) need the dealer to program them so they work properly.

I also got the set off of ebay, nice kit, 80 bucks I belive, what I did was hard wired them into one of the fuzes in the box in the cab. Then I mounted a toggle switch in that big hole next to the stock location for the light switches and i have complete control of when they are on/off and with them in the fuze I have protection and they shut off when the vehicle is off.

I called a couple of service shops and some say "Something is wired wrong". I'm lost, everything is wired right though.

I believe your PCM needs to be programmed to recognize the new fog lights.
