hey everyone,
i have a 01 silvy 5.3

the other day my truck started knocking, sounds like a rod knock to me and the oil pressure gauge pulses with the knock

i drove around all day then parked it for about 30 minutes, when i started it again it had a knock that did not stop, its not the cold knocking sound but a little louder

is it possible that a knock sensor went bad and is causing this or do i have an actual rod knock?

me being myself i think the worst and have been looking for a new(to me) motor

someone please help

 

if the oil pressure is also dropping then its probably not going to be an easy fix

 

Possible bad oil pump??

 

it doesn't really drop it just pulses to the knock



it drove fine all day wtf

this is the first major problem i have ever had with chevy, this is my third silvy


anyone ever have the same problem?

 

Any one reliable you can trust in your area to diagnose it? how does the oil look???
