Thumbs down I do not recommend the Auto Dry

This is my official non-recommendation of the Mr. Clean AutoDry. I think that only once out of the half dozen or so times I have used it that it has actually done a halfway decent job. Today when I washed my truck, and this isnt the first time its done this, it streaked so bad that I had to go over my entire truck with Meguires Quik Detailer to get it cleaned up. Also, while my wash mitt has become very dirty, leading me to believe the soap was working well, when I went over it with the detailer, I could see plenty of dirt on the white t-shirt I was using to wipe it off.

On a positive note, I love the Cooper's Aluminum polish I used on my wheels once I finished washing my truck. Instead of taking a couple hours per wheel with mothers, I did all 4 wheels in about an hour and I still have flesh on my fingertips which is always a good thing.

I was going to buy one, but when I noticed that you have to buy the replacement filter/water softener after every few washes I left it at the store. And the replacements aren't cheap either.

It does the job its supposed to. It dosent work miracles no. Maybe you have "hard" water that is putting that little filter to the test?

Mine works great but im not the type to wait for it to dry. Otherwise I think it worked well.

I got mine, and if I use a mild soap on the car like Turtle Waxes regular car wash, then pull it into the garage after final rinse, it works great. Sometimes I use a clean white cotten towel to wipe the car down wet as I am rinsing it, and this works freakin the best. I got a lot of streaking all over the truck, on black it sucks, until I tried a gentler soap. Turtle Wax soap sucks on removing road grime, but the rest of the truck looks great, and I just use tar-b-gone on the rocker panels. I have to replace the filters after just two car washes, with how hard the water is out here, but for 2 filters for $6.50 at walmart, it is worth it to me. Wiping the truck down is the only hard part with washing, the rest is easy. If I go to a hand car wash, it is at least $15, and If I do it myself, it is at least 2 hours. Since getting this, it is now about 30 minutes till I am done, and it looks about 95 percent as good as if I wiped it down myself. Hell, even if I go through a drive through car wash, I am still spending an hour wiping down the vehicle. So for $6.50 for 4 washes, to me, I don't really give a @#$%.

Now it works fantastic on my friends car cause he hooks it right up to a water softer in his garage, and on his 69 GTO it is freakin amazing. He used to spend 3 hours to get it to look good, cause all of the chrome, but now it is less than an hour. Also since using straigt out of the water softner, he has used it ten times and still has the same filter in it!

ditto!!!! I also wipe mine down after washing it, just makes the black look evan better than if I left it alone.
although I didnt know how it would work with the turtle wax wash. it said it would clog it up after you did that.
whats your thoughts on that hodgee?
if it works fine then thats what I will use seeing how thats what I used before I bought this.

i bought mine a while back but used it for the 1st time last week. i thought it came out pretty good. i definitely noticed a big improvement. of course it is not perfect. it was real windy and sunny, plus i was in a rush, but overall i was impressed. i think next time i will just use the blue coral car wash in a bucket like i usually do. the soap that is comes with, you don't even need. wash it like you normally do, hose it off with regular water, then rinse it with the de-ionized h2o

Wow, Ive used mine 3 times in total, washed my mothers car, my truck and my sisters Tahoe and was really impressed all three times. I thought it did a great job of drying virtually spotless. I took my time and made sure to go over the cars slowly w/ the filtered water. Im very pleased overall, and the cost of soap and filters will pay for themselves quickly considering it costs around 5 bucks to go to a self service car wash anymore.
