Default I can't take this.....

I'm so sick of being stock, I just want to know what it would be like to put on an intake kit or something and make it faster. But I can't untill I get a job (I have about $1200 right now) but even then my dad won't let me get hardly anything. I fell like driving my truck off a cliff with me in it right now. My point? You guys should be thankful (even if it's not a lot) to have anything on you trucks.

Well the trick i had to work on my dad is not sneek around him but tell him be like hey dad im gettin a intake or whatever. Most the time he wasn't listening so he was just like ok so when we changed the plugs on my truck he asked me what was that? I said remeber dad? I told you i was gettin a intake he was like oh yeah. But also what might help get mods that he wont see or hear and can only tell when he drives it. Take for example a HPP3 i know everyone bitches about it but that was one of the first mods i had and i loved it. Now i have a custom tune and its a night and day difference now. It sucks i cant do alot morestuff to my truck because i also dont have a job because of football and my dad says he wont let me do anything because i have a dragster.

well, even when i was working and making damn good money it was still hard to use it for truck stuff or in other words non neccesities. make what you can, buy used and keep your eyes open.

i am wanting to buy a nitrous kit so damn bad right now but i am torn between getting it and some other finacial obligation come up or hanging on to the money and waiting it out.

half the stuff on my truck was used. oh yea, do they do can returns where you live, i made some decent money doing that in high school. i would load my buddies up and make them get out and pick the cans up. lol

If I were you I'd get a programmer and a drop in filter and put some holes in your stock airbox, you could also do the ASP pulley, its not very noticeable. Then just tell your dad you want the truck a little louder and see if he'll let ya weld in a better flowing muffler. All that and you'll be in alot better shape. (you can always say you are looking for better mpg) I know what you mean though my dad used to be like that but I started off small and told him if I broke anything I'd fix it myself (which I've done, hehe transmission) and now he doesn't care.

good luck

I've convinced my mom to let me get some of this stuff behind his back (went with the better mpgs thing), but it's going to be hard because he looks at everything we buy with the credit card. I think this is stupid, because I'm going to be using my own money to pay for everything, it's just my dad dosen't want me to spend a lot on my truck. I understand I need money for college, but that's probaly 2-3 years from now and working 6 days a week (over kill I know, but it's the money that counts) all summer i'll have plenty of money. BTW, i'm going to start working on the weekends soon and all spring break.

Can you try to work the mpg angle so that you present it like, "I've researched getting my PCM tuned to increase my gas mileage, and found these guys who will custom tune your PCM for both Economy and Performance..."? Then you can explain how much money you'll save in gas and how the tune will pay for itself in no time! Worth a shot?

I was in your spot not too many years ago. I busted my *** working in HS and dropped money into my car. I put all of that on hold, went to college, and got a computer engineering degree. Now, I have the money to do this stuff!

Man, all you need is a Wester's tune. You'll get major power increase AND better mileage. Take him to the Wester site and show him any of the hundreds of testimonials.

And it's invisible until you drive it !!

And- I'll bet HE'LL be happy you did it !!
