I'm running Yokohama AVS/ST's 285 wide, and they made a huge difference. Their treadwear rating is 320. I think stock is around 400 or 420. The lowest I've seen for trucks is 300 (lower numbers are softer)Nitto makes them. You want the widest tire you can find (higher first number).
I think forged aluminum is the lightest rim material out there.

X-nay on the yokos. Mine hook ok on the street n/a but go up in smoke on the gas. As for the track, not very good. I usually hook better on the street that at the track with them. I am wanting to go with a set of Nitto drag radials. They are pretty good on the street if you are going to keep them on for everyday driving. I would like to get six new rims and put a set of the 305/40/18 555Rs on one set and regular radials on the other four so it wouldn't be so obvioius when I went out to play. I will probally just get a set of 16s with DRs for the track though.

p.s.-BigKid, if you do decided to go with 6 new rims let me know, i know of at least 3 people who might want the ones you have now

I had a set of the Nitto 404s before the Yokos and I liked them. The 285/50/18 is the same diameter as the stock 235s so they would look ok imo. However the 555Rs (drag radials) are just a smigin shorter but only by 1/4" or so.

Tony... I may take one of you up on that offer

if yur gunna take ME up on the offer you might want to wait a little while. all my money went POOF gone.

you can talk to blake or cody though. both of them seem to have a steady flow of cash (almost more than their little jobs should be providing). i think they might be dealin'

You forget I am a poor college student so it will not be anytime soon for me either, unless I come across a killer deal.
