even if your truck is stock, custom tune makes a huge difference over the hpp3. i did the change and i wish i knew that before i wasted my money on the hpp

thats the thing, i want to keep it stock, but i want to be able to change it whenever and i know custom tunes you have to take it somewhere or mail it off.

If its only good for rev limiter and shift points might not be the deal im looking for. my mail goal is to make the shift point change so maybe i can get a lil extra MPG since i have a decent drive to work.

i don't know much about tuners, but i am thinking that getting a tune might not help out much with the MPG. my problem would be if i got a nice custom tune, i wouldn't be able to keep my foot off the gas. so i would be losing MPG instead of gaining them. i don't think the HPP3 is going to give you the returns you are expecting. i could be wrong though. someone chime it if i need to be corrected

you will not get what you expect from the hypertech...
I had it on my 03 sierra and it made a nice little difference powerwise, but only like 1 mpg more... The only thing I really liked about it was shift firmness, shift points, and top speed limiter adjustments...
A good custom tune will give you better mpg because of the improved fuel and timing curves.
on my 07 sierra, I get around 3 mpg better in city driving, and about 1.5-2 mpg better in highway after the tune, with AFM disabled....
oh, and LOTS more power.... It really IS hard to keep my foot out of it.....

Everyone Says It Sux But I Actually Thought It Worked Ok In My Truck I Ran A 9.0 In The 1/8 In Cold Weather With Hypertech K&n And Exhaust With Electric Fans Then Went To The Track Again In Warmer Weather With A Tune And Ran A Best Of 9.6 Weather Mite Have Been A Factor But I Really Didnt Feel Much Power Difference With The Tune Except The Better Shifts And I Didnt See Any Mpg Difference

Just got a Wheatley 93 tune this weekend to replace my wait4me one. Huge improvement over wait4me and is well worth the money. Do not get tricked into buying a HPP3.
