i use pennzoil platinum myself...was just wondering because a couple engines i've had apart that used quaker state looked like that...not bad just staind

Pennzoil platinum is very good oil as is Valvoline synpower. I use Castrol Syntec, 0W30 the European formula, (German Castrol)

I have never used Quaker State but have used Pennzoil. I have seen the varnish develop using Castrol GTX but then again have seen very clean engines with the GTX. I don't think the varnish is anything to worry about. Its not harmful.

i also use a mixture of castrol gtx and valvoline syn power oil treatment(can't find it anymore)...10oz of the treatment to 6qts of the gtx...makes a nice formula

I can’t tell you how many different types of oil have been in that truck. But for the last two years it has been mobil1 synthetic and mobil1 synthetic high mileage
