upgrading a 5.3
#1
Whats good with everyone? I'm new to this forum and would like to get some advice on what to do to a stock 5.3 to make it run 13s....and not necessarily that but what my options are to do so.
Thanks in advance

The same stuff you would do to any other engine ever built. with the exception of a custom tune.
Mods in my sig put me about mid to upper 13 with my extended cab on 20"s
That's 216/220 cam, Long Tube headers, 3000 stall converter, gears, locker and a tune.

That all depends on the truck. If its a RCSB it is really simple: full exhaust, tune, bolt-ons, gears, and a posi. A higher stall converter will help but I think a 5.3 can possibly do 13's without one.
Hell, my 4.8 runs 13's with bolt-ons, full exhaust (long tubes, ORY, and a single 3"), tune, 3.73's, and a 3600 stall.
If you have and ext. cab or 4wd its a little harder but still doable.
