I'm new to performance and computer controlled engines, btw I have a 99 5.3 Sliverado. How are you guys supplementing the signal from the o2 sensors so that you can run catless?

That can be taken care of with a performance tune. The tuner can adjust for any new conditions that are caused by exhaust changes. I know Blackbear Performance can do it. I believe Wheatley and Nelson can too.

10-4 on just have it tuned out. You put you a nice exhaust and a catless Y and get you a good custom tune from a reputable tuner...and you'll enjoy your truck a whole lot more.

I'v also heard of people installing 02 simulators..

 

02 sims are not being sold new anymore and they were illegal in many states therefore you couldn't pass visual inspection. A tune will be way more beneficial and get the most out of running the new headers and catless y pipe!

 

You can use spark plug defoulers to pull the rear O2s out of the exhaust stream enough to not throw a code.

 

Yep Ive heard this as well, easier to just tune it out if the option too.
