ok ok i got my new ARP header bolts today and i PB blasted them earlier. i want to know what not to do when taking the Pace setter bolts out they came with the headers and i just dont trustm i think i'll go through the wheel well to get the rears i got a 2 foot and a short extension too

any other tips would be great

 

Dont put too much stress on the bolts. Take it slow. If you feel like one is breaking let off. Hit it again with the PB blaster before you start. Mine came out with no issues be we dont have the rust issue down here lol

 

Yeah, just slowly apply pressure. Don't put all of your strength into it from the start.

 

Give them a good douse of PB blaster before you start and along the way if they are sticking. And like said above, slow and easy.

 

If you can feel them starting to break then you're not going to get them out without breaking them, IMO. PB fluid only does so much. If they do break, extracting them through the wheel well is easiest.

 

no rust issues either, and 70k miles, and I broke two, that was after using KROIL for 5 days.

 

these bolts only have been in for 2 yrs , am i being overly cautious?

 

you can never be to cautious when avoiding broken bolts. i broke the one right next to the firewall. the only way to get it out is to remove the head. makes for a bad day.

 

Soaked mine in PB blaster the night before, another soak half hour before pulling them the next day, came right out.

 

After the soak if you have the room give the head of the bolts a few taps with a hammer will help to 'shock' them.
