Question How much oil?

Its time for me to do a first ever oil change on my moms 05 escalade with the 6.0 . I was wondering how many qurts of oil I should put in. Also is putting in mobil 1 better than putting in the regular castrol stuff?

Yep, 6 quarts. Mobil 1 would be fine; the full synthetic is really good stuff and will help the engine last longer. I'm running Castrol Syntec full synthetic right now and it does pretty good as well.

6 QTs with a filter.I suggest at least 6000 miles with dino oil before synthetic so the rings will seat better.

It should be taken to the dealer so that the oil change can be documented for warranty purposes and so that it can be checked out by qualified service personnel. You obviously don't know what you are doing. No offense, just a fact.

Fram filters are worthless! Do yourself a favor and at least buy a factory Delco filter. As for not using synthetic from the beginning, I don't beleive it- the Corvette, Viper, all BMWs and Mercedes ALL come with synthetic from the factory- its a myth IMO. And I've always done my oil changes, just save the sales slips and document everything!
