How much did you guys spend on rear

You all know eaton builds all of those: Auburn, tru-trac, detroit locker,eaton lsd and even the g-80 is an eaton product.

Yes they are all owned by Eaton, but the regular Eaton branded lsd and the Detroit trutrac are two very different designs.

were i used to work, we charged $550 for the ring and pinion, shim kit and install..so plus a $390 tru-trac...

yeah they are all different designs and and each a quality product. except the g80, of course.

Cool,price not to far of I would like to use the gears I have 3.73 so should be cheaper.

The Labor 3.8 to 4.5hrs at $70 per hour $315.00
Rear posi true trac or eaton $385.00
Rear cover gasket and lube $ 30.00
New side brgs $ 40.00
Uncle sam $ 60.00
800 looks pretty fare to me the labor time guide shows 3.8 to just replace the side bearings. They were probably going to install new ones and the switch your ring gear from the old carrier to the new one. The other thing to remember is sometimes you have to play with the shims a bit to get the side bearing preload and ring gear backlash to come out good. Remember you'll get what you pay.
