My 4.8 had 52k miles on it when it was pulled for an ls6 swap in my 06. the 6.0 just got refreshed with a new heads and cam package at 130k miles. and the 5.3 in the Tahoe is sitting comfortably at 218k miles.

232,000 miles, 132,000 with Magnacharger, 6 dead 4L60 trannies. Engine runs great but has started knocking on startup in the mornings, stops in about a minute or so. collecting parts for next engine which I plan to swap out in a year or 2.

My 5.3 did same thing especially on really cold days for about 10 years before it went....couldve saved it with an oil pump, but had started building my 6.0 when it got bad...

Just bought my latest one (01 Silverado ECSB) today and it has only 2667xx miles on it. No noises, leaks and even the tranny seems to be working fine.

280,000 on mine and it gets the **** beat out of it every day, and for the last 75k miles or so since I've had it. No noticeable oil consumption if the oil is changed every 3k miles using Rotella synthetic and Lucas additives. Oh and lately I have ran a few bottles through it pilled at a 100 shot and have had no problems.

Damn! 01 Silverado 5.3 with a healthy 280,xxx!!! Doesn't use oil at all! Also have tuned and headers and all this crap and it doesn't even act like it wants to die! My stock 4l60e went to 260,xxx! Then I blew it apart after I started modding it!
