soo, for the guys hopeing to be in the 10's or better. what is your set up going to be? what is your ET goal for this year?

my goal is 9.99, i would love to see it happen at some big event like drag week or thunder. i don't expect it at all and may finish out the year with nothing but more down time since my power level is geting up there and there are several parts i haven't upgraded yet.

my set up. cmotorsports 408, stock 6.0 heads, moderate cam, PT88 turbo, 4" down pipe with 4" cut out, finishline transmision 4l80e, just uped the PI stall to 3500 or so, nittos 555r's all around, roll bar, alcohol injection, megasquirt fuel control, 95lb injectors. lots more i am forgeting. oh yeah, geting a monster waste gate, going with a huge 60mm hks racegate

so, how fast do you want to be this year?

i was told you want a smaller wastegate for more boost becouse a big one will leak exhaust to fast and make it not run as much high boost they say a small one with big heavy duty spring to hold it closed. maybe they were wrong i dunno this was from banks turbo and and the guys i got my turbo from.

a waste gate that is too small will only be able to run high boost. on my set up with the previous wg my minimum boost with the cut out open was 22psi. i was asking for 10psi. you can see it wasn't able to bypass enough exhaust to control the boost.

a larger waste gate should be able to bypass as much exhaust as i want, i should be able to run 10psi if i want or 25psi if i want.

I don't want 10's. No definite answer on when I may be done but it should be some thing like this

iron block 402 (solid roller)
FMS All Pro heads
Pt 101 w/ A2w intercooler
NX direct port
Big stuff 3
Th 400 w/ 5000 stall
And a couple of other odds and ends to make it go down the track

My goal is a healthy 11 sec run but 10's wouldn't be bad.

Forged LS1 346
Mild lunati cam
Self ported heads
Twin innovative 60-1 turbos
65lb. injectors

WOW that would be awesome to see. For your truck to run a 10.99 you would need around 1000 rwhp!!!

Hopefully, by the end of this year I really want it sooner but I dont think I'll be able to afford the turbo until late this year like close to Nov. The rest of the setup will be done fairly soon. 383 is at LME right now and paid for , direct port nitrous system is in my living room , the tranny is waiting on Chuck to send me a crate so I can get it to him. The install should be done sometime either in August or September, but you know as well as I do there's going to alot of tuning to work out before I can really "get r done" . My plan is to have most of the tuning issuse worked out by late september early october, then get the turbo tune some more and throw the dana on. I might need to look at some new half shalfs up front though!
