Question How to add Cruise to Gen III?

I need to add cruise to my truck. I'm thinking since these new trucks are drive-by-wire that the only thing needed is the switch assy?
It seems to me that the PCM probably has all the capability built in already, and all it needs is the inputs to tell it to set speed, etc.
Does anyone know if this is correct?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

03+ (drive by wire) you can just change the turnsignal stalk and it'll work from what I've been told.... mine came with it so I never tried, but several people have and had no problems.

I bet thats true and a new turn signal is only $75 where CC is a few hundred dollar option.

Thanks guys!. I went to the dealer and bought the switch. He consulted the aftermarket shop that they use for dealer add ons who agreed that the only thing needed was the switch and a reflash.

Unfortunately when I installed the switch, I found there was no mating wiring harness in the column! Wondering if the WT models they use a stripped down harness?

I'm working now on trying to find the wiring schematic. See here for futher developments.

get a hinge and a wooden stick and make mearsure how far the peddle is down at highway speed and cut the stick that long screw the hinge to the wood and screw the contraption to the platic panel under the steering wheel one you get up to speed put the stick against the gas peddle and kick back and enjoy the ride.
