Default Hemi Powerful??? Maybe not

I was reading this article about he Hemi engines. It seems that they are not making as much power as they say they do. I mean 263 that is pretty equavalent to the 5.3 engines. I would kind of feel ripped off if I owned a Hemi. They are still pretty strong but maybe they are not cut out to what everybody makes them seem. What does everyone think?

Is that at the wheels or at the flywheel?

Not that I'm pro-hemi, but whoever wrote that article is an idiot. The KB numbers are with out a numbers at the wheels. Assume around 22-23% loss and thats about 340ish hp at the crank. Seems right on target.

Yeah that is what I thought too. But the article makes it seem as though it is coming from the flywheel. I did not do the calculation before, but if it is around a 20% drive train loss than that would make it around where it should be at. I got it of Sport Truck.

Mine this past weekend, weight 4600 with out me in it, right around 4800 with me driving, 3.55 gear 17's and ran 14.84 at 92mph several times on a 60 degree or warmer day, at 21% loss that shows around 320hp at the flywheel, the formula cannot factor in aerodynamics, or in a ram's case lack of. I have a drop in filter and FM 50 muffler.

Can you find a more out of focus pic...sheesh...it's impossible to read the max power and torque at the top.....that max torque number kinda looks like 506.XX....which is NOT right

what exactly is the 290hp/303tq number......
