what exactly is the 290hp/303tq number......

next time you look at the dyno sheet go down to the botten right side of the dyno sheet and click on the box with arrows this will make it bigger....then you will be able to see the numbers

Okey Dokey.....if you say so, that pic is REALLY hard to read so I'll have to take your word for it. Nice numbers from a Hemi....actually pretty suprising numbers given the lousy transmissions that Dodge makes, if it wasn't for the trannys Dodge would have a great truck

I find it amazing that I have less of a drivetrain loss than a 2wd Dodge does.....and I've got ALOT more parts spinning under there than they do

My browser is set to not auto-resize pictures....I got it in all its 550x427 pixel glory the first time, I even tried to resize and sharpen in Photoshop and it didn't help

Well of your actual hp is 311 (flywheel) then that makes it less than what the truck comes with. Then you your corrected is 303 at the wheels (which sounds fine) but not if 311 is at the flywheel. Or maybe I am not understanding this correctly??

The potential power in the new "hemi" engine is excellent.

I don't remeber exact STOCK head flow numbers, but I know it was good enough to support 425HP. Funny, that was what the 426 hemi's rated output was from the factory.

I believe dodge has detuned the engine alot in preperation for the HP wars. They will be able to raise the output buy 80hp to keep up with competion just by tuning the computer. And it will not cost them a dime more, but will cost you thousands more. This is also why dodge so closely guards there ecm programming.

They are also talking trash about increasing the displacement of the hemi. Like they just thought of this or something.

311hp is not at the flywheel it's at the rear wheels.....do you know anything about a dyno????

Actually to tell u. I sure don't. I guess now would be a great time to explain it to me. I just was understanding that your 311 was at the fly and corrected at the wheels would give you 303 or whatever you said before. So what exactly is the diffrence between the 311 and the corrected 303.

Not tryin to diss your Hemi just trying to understand!! I would assume it is due to the hp loss from the actual dyno???

First off...I'm not ragging on you or your truck so don't take it that way, but if Dodge makes a transmission with a 23% loss in a 2wd truck then it's a LOUSY transmission....GM has a 17% loss in their light-duty trans and 20% in their heavy-duty ones (22% in a 4x4 with a heavy-duty 4L80e 4-spd). I've NEVER seen a Dodge tranny that will stand up to big HP (the TF727 being the exception to that statement) without serious beefing-up. My Father and I have owned 3 Dodge trucks, I NEVER had ANY problems with them whatsoever....except for the transmissions, ALL THREE needed to be replaced or re-built under warranty (and one of those is an '03 my father owns currently).

Now that I've made that statement I will also say that GM's 4L60-e 4-spd automatic is a god-awful useless piece-of-**** transmission when it comes to handling anything other than stock power numbers...it has great efficiency, but breaks if you even look at it the wrong way

I WAS trying to tell you that you put good numbers down.....and doing it through a less-than-wonderful transmission makes those numbers all the better in my eyes...so the next time you decide to get defensive try to realize that ALL brands of trucks have problems (even yours)
