Default HELP Truck won't start !!!!!

I installed the new tranny guage in cluster. The guage wont read for some reason but thats no problem. I tested (green wire) switch for the dimmer side to control the light on the guage so I just stuck the wire into back of the switch turn on and heard a pop sound in the switch. I have park lights but no head lights. Everything else works including the fuel pump. The truck will start but shuts right off. I haved looked at all the fuses and all ok. How would you test a relay if one is bad. The door chime inside dose not work either. I have no interior lights also but I have dash lights.

did you check both fuse boxes?
to check a relay you would need a meter

I drove the truck around the block before i hooked up the light to guage. The guage pegs to the left. I think the sensor is not grounded good. I have checked the relays with my meter and all have the same reading. I think the switch is the problem because no interior light either. I think the computer is looking for the DRL and not there causing it not to start.

is this an autometer guage put in the dash where the factory one would go?
you should have one wire to a ground.
one wire to the trans sender
one wire made up with the 12v from the guage
one wire for the 12v for the light.( which i think is the one you are trying to use for the light correct?
this is basiscally how i wired mine. only i spliced into the green wire and did not stick to wire into the back,
you should have also fused the 12v lead going to the guage

Truck runs again!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes. I found a fuse I over looked and blown. The guage I have it wired to a 12v fused supply. I ran two wires to tranny one to sensor and the other to a bolt on tranny which tested and have a good ground. Have doubled checked everything and all hooked up correctly. I'll mess with it tomorrow I'm tired of working on it. It looks great. Will let you know if i get it working thanks for your help Thunder
