tyring to disable my factory security system.
ive installed a remote start on my 2500hd and i have to hit the unlock button, then the lock button to start the truck.
one step id like to get rid of.
if i remote start it with the doors locked, the alarm goes crazy.
2005 if it matter.

TJ the factory security in the 05 GMC is controlled by the bsm throught a data stream fromthe OBD2. When you installed the remote starter did you also install a DATA module to interface with the Remote start? You need a bypass kit for the passlock 2 system and a data module for the security.Also your remote starter brand if its any good will have a disarm output and a rearm output , tis controlls the GM system eliminating the need for lock and unlock woes. check out www.bypasskits.com for the module required.I use the GMBP module and it works great.

 

thanks. a buddy installed mine for me, as im not the best with electronics. its an omega brand piece, and i do have the passlock module thing.
he told me he could take care of me in about 15 minutes, that there are several features and settings within the box.
i thought it would be a simple "pull this fuse" type thing so i wouldnt have to bother him.
