I currenlt have a steel cowl hood on my 2000 silverado that i want to replace with a HD hood and the guy at the wrecker said that the HD hoods on diesels are different from a regular Hd hood. Does any one know if that is correct? Did any trucks 99-02 come with a cowl HD cowl hood?

 

an HD hood is an HD hood from 00-02. just get one....

nope. I'm sure there was a concept of sorts....but nothing produced...

 

nobody makes a custom hd hood i.e. : cowl, ram-air, scoops, etc.

 

I'm I'm happy for it and hope it stays that way....I want an '06 grill pretty bad, but HATE the big snub nosed hood. as soon as goodmark or someone has a cowl hood to fit '06 grilles, I'm getting a new grille AND hood!!
